My review in a nutshell: Hated it as a child, appreciate the impact it has had on my life as an adult. (Long review below) So I grew up taking Kumon at this location and really hated it. Like, geez, my mom was persistent and never missed a day of doing this stuff and the back-and-forth of getting it graded until I got the answers right was just the worst because there really was no slacking. Having grown up I realized that if I had just done it to my best ability it would have taken half the time to get it done and been way less of a chore--who knew??!! Not sure why I felt compelled to leave a review after all this time but as an adult I thought my insight might be valuable to parents out there wondering if it's worth the time and money. For me, it was. I was WAY beyond my peers in reading, writing, and math and I think the hands-on approach required of the parents made my mom feel like she could be an integral part of my academics, that it wasn't just left up to my teachers. It was something we got to do together even though I hated it and I think, in retrospect, that may have made our relationship better in the long run because she invested so much. Anyway, just popping in to say "hey" to my old stomping grounds and say thank you. I may have lost (ahem--hidden) some of my harder packets back in the day but the 99% of the packets that I did do had a lasting impression on my life (ie, I still do math in my head without pulling out my phone. Shocking, I know.) Overall it was a good experience that I would do with my own children someday.
