Out of this world food and service. Amazing. Thank you

We opted for the 7 course tasting menu for 55 pp (and added the accompanying 'wine flight' for 20 pp). We found each course got better and better, culminating in a beautiful, melt in the mouth lamb dish followed by a stunning pre-dessert of honey ice cream, muscavado sugar wafer and beurre noisette crumb before finishing with a blackberry parfait and accompaniments. The menus change regularly depending on the availability of local and foraged ingredients. The wine which accompanied each dish was a 'taster' rather than a full size serving, but I actually liked this as I sometimes find you can't keep up with the dishes if accompanying wine is a standard measure. Jess was friendly and knowledgeable and extended a warm welcome to all the guests. The venue is a cosy and intimate converted old machine repair shop, with only a small number of tables. Saturday nights are now booking up off the back of their recent Two Rosette AA award and their naming as the Restaurant of the Year at AA Hospitality Awards. If you like fine dining but with out pretentiousness, then I would highly recommend.
Very nice delicious meals well worthy of their Michelin stars.
The setting of the restaurant is beautiful. The food is amazing. Had 6 course tasting menu with wine flight. Food glorious staff wonderful. Would definitely recommend a trip there. I drove an hour and half round trip worth every mile.Loved the whole experience
I was out of my comfort zone (being more used to a Toby carvery) but the staff made me feel very welcome. The food was very tasty and space is lovely. We had the taster menu which have an opportunity to sample the chef's skill. I did leave feeling unsatisfied though for a few reasons. Price and portion. You sit around for 10-15 mins then eat at times a mouthful or two of food then wait again for the next portion. Had they given you one of the courses that had been substantial so you feel satisfied this menu and the price would have been great. I don't know if this is the restaurant's problem or mine though. It's all about what you are used too and I suppose your financial situation.
We had an extremely agreeable lunch here and the food was exceptionally good. Casual style, bistro ish decor. We eat at high end restaurants, numerous with M* but few can match the well executed dishes for the ingredients and flavour combinations. Nothing was there for the sake of it (which is all too common in tasting menus.)
Nice cottage venue, but food was inconsistent. Some great dishes, others below average for fine dining. The most concerning was when requesting a dry-ages sirloin to be cooked rare and it comes medium well, that’s not Michelin quality (as Machine House likes to advertise). Would be hesitant to recommend...
