Best equipment, awesome, motivated and creative staff that is always ready to help and you don't need to be an expert at anything because it's a great place to jump in and learn. Great community of "makers," woodworkers, welders, electronic techies, artists, designers, you name it. It just doesn't get any better than this for a place to make pretty much anything you want. High-tech to low tech, it's all here and the instructional classes are great. If you go for a tour, there is no way you won't come out excited ready to join. All you need to bring is your materials and your imagination - they provide the rest. 11/16 : Closed for good today. To those that took advantage of all this place had to offer it, you know it was a real deal. Ahead of its time. Will miss it as there is nothing out there even close.

Not worth the frustration and money!!! Some of the members are often rude and pretentious making it a very uncomfortable environment to work in. The laser is always booked so good luck on getting any amount of work done with it. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!
I really like TechShop. It's a bit of a commitment to get started since nearly all the equipment requires you take a course to use the tools. It's also convenient that it's right next to Lowes. Now if there was an electronics store on the other side it would be perfect.
Not worth the money - Can never get in/hours cut. The available hours for the equipment has been severely limited, not updated and closed on days previously open. If you are a maker with only weekend time, this is not the place for you. I loved this place when I first joined a year ago, but can never get any open slots on machines, and they are often blocked for days at a time. On top of this, the hours suddenly changed to being closed on Sundays. Will definitely not recommend nor renew. I had high hopes and loved i a year ago, but I'm resigned to getting my own equipment instead of paying the high price they charge for membership. Lots of money for nothing in return.
Although really expensive, this place was really great when they first opened. I was willing to shell out the money because the value was there for me to have access to tools that I wouldn't otherwise 24-hours a day. Because I work a full-time job during the week and Tech Shop can get pretty congested making it difficult to access some of the tools I was happy to work on projects during they're least peak times. Then something happened where they kept changing their hours making it impossible for me to do anything! Totally lost its value! There's no point in me spending all that money and getting nothing out of it! So buyer beware! If you go on a tour keep in mind that till paint you a pretty picture and everything will look beautiful on the front end but the logistics are a nightmare! The people you see in the shop may have had to wait a week or longer just to get in to work on a project for maybe two hours before being kicked off whatever tool they're using for whoever's next in line. It's very frustrating and not something you should expect when you're paying that much money!
I would live here if I could. They have *everything* you could dream of- laser cutters, welding equipment, a full woodworking shop. It's great. The staff is really amazing- always friendly and helpful. Cost-wise, it's about as much as membership at a decent gym.
Excellent facility. If you need to build pretty much anything, from power armor to a highly stylized quilt, they have the gear to do it. 3d printing. Laser cutting. Metal bending. Powder coating. THEY HAVE IT ALL. Seriously. I want to make ridiculous halloween costumes here now.
Excellent facility. If you need to build pretty much anything, from laser etched cases to lathe-cut clubs, they have the gear to do it. 3d printing. Laser cutting. Metal bending. Powder coating. I could go in there and forget to step out for weeks.
