Waited in the ER for over 12 HOURS. I wish I was kidding. The only tests that had been performed on me during that time period were a urine sample, blood test and an ultrasound. There were hours in between each step of just waiting, plus I had to reach out to nurses myself to get updates. I was admitted at 12:30 am and provided them with a urine sample right away only to have a nurse come back to me and ask me for another on at 4 o'clock because the other one was now "too old to be sent to the lab". Not sure why it sat around for four hours when I told the nurse dealing with me that it was completed? Doctor came in at 5:30 am asking the nurse why they hadn't collected blood from me yet when she has asked them to. This delayed things further and I didn't then talk to the doctor about the results from my blood/urine sample until 8:00 am. 10:30 finally came around and they took me to get an ultrasound done. It took them until 12:30 before a doctor talked to me about what was found. The only positive thing I can say is that they prescribed me some medication that should help my issue, but I was made to wait in agony for over 12 hours sat in a wooden chair in the waiting room. I've NEVER in my life had to wait around that long in an ER.

Our grand daughter was born here. Great care by the staff. Wish I could remember the nurse’s name because she was wonderful - kind, caring, easy to talk to. Everyone was nice to us whether they were cleaning or emptying garbages or checking the baby. Nice little play area on the main floor. Store, cafe and coffee shop available. Love it that the machines accept credit cards to buy a snack. Parking was ok. It’s a parkade - what do people expect? Everyone is doing their best

if you go to any hospital know your rights as a patient and you will see them work for you...I almost lost my son because there teams whatever they call them dont know the definition of teamwork me and my son saved himself. so sad we had to leave JP for RUH...but yes guys you have rights to be seen if not there is complains commisionare or college of doctors to give a formal complaint.

Horrible place. Staff make people in the ER wait for hours while they just talk. They aren’t busy doing anything, most of them were LITERALLY just sitting around and talking. Doctors and nurses don’t care about any patients, unless it’s a child. Back to that, the doctors and nurses are extremely rude and unprofessional when people come to the ER for mental problems. They treat them like it’s a joke, and they show no support. I’ve been to St. paul’s a couple times and i didn’t think they were very great, but RUH is 100 times worse.

Good service even in COVID-19 pandemic. Can we make service fast, because i think it is emergency department.

I went to seek help at ruh for extreme anxiety and depression. Waited several hours with only one person ahead of me. He left after waiting so long and not getting admitted. Nurses/receptionists talked between themselves that he was there twice before in the previous weeks and mused “he’ll be back”. They did not take his or my situation seriously. All i got was a few pills for relief - which i explained wouldn’t be enough. Go anywhere else. I plan on it. They even faxed my prescription to the wrong number twice. An entire day of agony will little to show for it. The nurse said some people have waited for 72 hours in emergency before being given a place in the dube centre. How can people be expected to get better with this level of care.
