There are a few interesting things for petrolheads to see like the original beetle, trabant, fiat 500, etc, interesting place. Deduct two stars though, one star for the overpriced ticket 10EUR (for which you can visit BMW museum and see more), one star for the tight arrangement and fences so you can't take a nice picture at all. Not quite recommended but is not so bad or expensive to pass 1 hour of time.

Very nice museum if you are in to trains and/or classic cars. The cars are not in perfect condition but show a nice display of the difference between the east and the west of Germany. You can also visit the war museum for 5 extra.
Nice to know.
A good collection, very interesting steam trains and a good selection of cars not normally seen. The exhibits looked used but clean which added a charm to their history.
Other reviews have been quite critical of this place, and to some points I agree, but on the other hand I did enjoy myself and as a passing visitor (and engineering enthusiast) I found it refreshing that it was fairly open in space, with a mix of vehicles I'm not used to in the UK. I liked the fact that not all the exhibits were in showroom condition, as it showed the use and grime that tells some of that vehicle's history. I'm a little sad that there didn't seem to be any reference to the Metre gauge railway systems that Rugen is famous for having, but it may be that there is another site for that. Multi lingual signage for the exhibits would also be an improvement, as some items didn't have signs (even in German) to explain what they were. My family and I enjoyed it, and if we come back up to Rugen area, will probably go again.
Good place to see old rail wagons and cars
