Surprisingly disappointing. Food is bad and totally over-priced, Service non-existent. We both got the Kebab. The beef looked and tasted like the composed cheap meat with lots of tomato sauce, and saggy bread laying underneath all of that. 495 NTD for this low quality, mono-tasting plate, is a rip-off. About the service, my friend wanted plain bread, the staff told us no can do. So we ordered an extra then found out the bread was just laying underneath the meat and tomato sauce. And there are other things I won’t bother to mention. I think it’s just a place lacking any sense of will to help the guests. Funny they took service charge, which we paid for but was never delivered.
Lamb skewers had a tasty, gamey flavor. Rice was not as dry as I'd like but still good. We ordered a cheese and egg pide which would have been nice with a dipping sauce, Mediterranean salad, red lentil soup, lamb eggplant kebab , and mixed grill kebab. The eggplant flesh (they recommend you not to eat the charred skin) was really nice! Bill was about 1700. Food came out really quickly
Flavours have certainly been adjusted for local preference. Could barely taste any spices in the food... kebab was drowning in tomato sauce that tasted like ketchup. A place to try only if you’re really bored of beef noodles and hot pot. Go for a decent pizza if you’re thinking of the pide (which was what I came for) ... didn’t scratch the itch!
Turkish food in Turkey is one of the best cuisines in the world, but this restaurant totally ruined it. It is very disappointing. We don't need to pay to eat tomato sauce tasted like directly from the can, cold and uncooked spread over on the beef which is not cooked well with no taste but lamb flavour. No stew food which is also typical Turkish food. Pide is also disappointing. not recommended.
This restaurant is a gem in Taipei! Turkish hospitality added to great food will make you want to keep coming to the restaurant for more. Highly recommended for picky eaters as they accommodate requests from clients. So if you are vegetarian or vegan they will surly make their best effort to have options for you just tell them in advance.
Great food (only tried vegetarian options). Especially, eggplant!
很難吃,有點失望了! Really wanted to like this restaurant, but the food was very disappointing. The restaurant itself is nicely decorated, with colourful lamps and beautiful pictures of Turkey. But the food that we ordered was extremely mediocre. I ordered aubergine/lamb kebab, and my partner ordered a chicken and tomato casserole style dish. The aubergines were over-baked and blackened, which meant that interior of the aubergine was permeated with a smoky burnt taste, just awful. The lamb part of the kebab was dry and under-seasoned, almost tasteless. The other bits were equally tasteless, with almost no seasoning used whatsoever. There was a tiny spoonful of hummus, which was nice, but that disappeared in a single mouthful. My partner's dish, with chicken, was also extremely bland. The chicken itself was dry, and the tomato sauce seemed to have nothing else apart from tomatoes. If it were me, I would absolutely not use chicken breast in this recipe, unless paired with something else to make up for the lack of flavour. Chicken breast is the most tasteless part of the chicken. In order to make the overly-dry food palatable, we asked if there were any sauces that we could add. But there was nothing available. Eventually they were able to conjure up a piece of lemon which improved the situation a bit, but not by much. I could make better food at home for half the price, and I'm not a professional chef. Given the relatively high price being charged, and knowing how good Turkish cuisine can be, this restaurant needs to do a lot to improve.
