Historical site. Interesting how they lived and the furniture, plates, kitchen items etc. She started organizations that are still around today.

Great little museum. I was surprised that someone so important in women's culture lived just outside my home town.

Nice set-up. Stopped by to see the memorial plaque. Stayed for a quiet moment.

Another hidden gem - if you can find it! Signage in Brantford for this spot isn't very good (maybe because it's actually in St. George, ON.), but a number of very friendly locals pointed us in the right direction. Our arrival at the museum seemed to catch the staff at a loss - the posted hours on- line didn't jive with the ones on the sign in front of the museum, and it seemed that they weren't exactly clear on whether the museum should be open or closed. A charming young lady among the staff, Erin, offered to show us the house and proved to be an absolute font of knowledge. She was also very patient with all of the questions that we had. The place was jammed with artifacts, many actually belonging to Mrs. Hoodless and her family, and these brought to life the story of an interesting and heroic woman. This was an excellent museum and we're glad we went. Highly recommended.
