Why is every single member of staff so rude???The man in store who wears his hair up in dreads wasn’t working today.. however whilst in store an old man was extremely rude to me. After leaving the store I addressed the old man that he should wear a face mask if he was that bothered About me being “so close” as he had a scarf not covering his face... The man who (off duty) works in co op started shouting abuse at me. I assume he was a relative of the old man. I don’t see why he had to get involved. Although he wasn’t working he’s now made me feel too uncomfortable to go back. Not even the first time this has happened absolutely appalled to be treated like this. I was refused entry when forgetting my mask on one occasion but others are allowed in without anything just for being friends????? All in my local shop I won’t be returning

Large store with a good range of products. Relatively new so the exterior and interior are in good condition. Unfortunately, they are not selling the Twirl Orange and staff seemed unaware of them.

This place can be hit-and-miss, regarding stock levels, availability as well as staff levels and their attitudes. On the whole it a good place to shop (there isn't much alternative in St. Leonard's if you don't have a car!) I try to get there earlier in the day to avoid the crowds as it can get rather busy. They often DONT have the morning goods on offer which surprised me as I was told by staff that they start baking at 6am. That's 1.5 hours before they open so if you really want a croissant it may be better to go elsewhere. Staff can be cheery but that's up to them. I was surprised that over Christmas there didn't seem to be more of a staff presence on the floor, I did see several hurdles of employees shuffling about with their hands in their pockets whilst floors needed sweeping & shelves replenishing. I go there every day as it's the only place really unless you get a bus into Hastings. The self service machines would be better if they accepted cash as well as cards but as the security presence seems rather feeble & there are many beggars & shoplifters around I can see why it's card only. It is a fairly newish expansion, but since their relaunch, no one seems to take pride in the stores appearance which is a shame. Some days it's a 5* rating, others far less!
