Could not pass up a chance to try snails in Alsace. Especially cooked in two different ways: garlic butter and Munster cheese. Well, I can truthfully say that it has been a really long time since I had garlic butter snails this good! I sent back the dish so clean it looked like it had been washed - mopped up every last drop with bread. The Munster cheese preparation is not to be discounted either. It was excellent. But the garlic butter - oh my! We tried a range of dishes from foie gras to canard to sirloin. When you have excellent ingredients, a rich range of recipes and dedicated cooks, you can't go wrong. The meal was very good. We even indulged in desserts. The whipped cream that came with the profiteroles and the flan was so fresh and whipped to perfection. Amazing! I will admit that the service was a bit slow but I have seen this to be the case in most family run restaurants where they try to employ as little outside help as possible. I also know that there is some kind of law that prohibits places from employing seasonal employees. So, when the crowds come in at summer, for a few months the staff are stretched thin. It's something most restaurants have to deal with.

If you are looking for a typical cosy alsatian meal in a quaint alsacien house, look no more. The low decorated ceiling and beams and the warmth of the decor will instantly transport you in a feel good and comfy atmosphere. Food is not the best albeit not bad, service is good and friendly. Many regulars. We had a lovely time and would go again just to feel the warmth of this place and be transposed into anothet time: a change in time and space that are very relaxing an experience. They also have a covered terrace for the smokers (i don't smoke but friends do). Very customer centric.
Always a pleasure, indoor decoration isn't for everyone and the music is very bad and too loud but the staff is very friendly and the menu really nice.
Popped in to try and eat up some time, as I was heading up the road to see the St Louis football team play at 4, so I had a few hours to kill. Sat at bar and tried a Biere de Noel, well it was still around so why not! Had a few of them, they were nice and easy to drink. Atmosphere was friendly, bar was very cozy and at the side to the eatery there was a big crowd in, considering it was a lazy saturday afternoon that was impressive, so the food must be good. Seen they had a Guinness tap, or what I thought was a tap, but alas it wasn't, it was some sort of cooler, and I was served from a can. The Guinness head didn't quite reach the tip of the glass, and wasn't what it could have been, but I'm not going too complain too much about that. Overall, a very relaxing few hours, the time was killed and with a few nice beers inside was ready for the football match all in good spirits.
We took a day trip from Zurich and hadn't eaten breakfast so we were really looking forward to our meal. However we were super disappointed. The escargo was over cooked and lacking flavour. The chicken special was really overcooked...like leather. Whilst the ribs were moist, they lacked flavour. Get better french in Australia! Really didn't like my meal. Leaving France disappointed.
Good food with very generous portions. It is at least true for what we ordered: choucroute and magret de canard. The ambiance and the overall dining room decoration is also a big plus.
Great cooking, good service, wide choice, good value daily specials
Very nicely decorated, good food, friendly service, reasonable price. What else do you need?
