Excellent museum but only opens two days a week and limited hours. You can call the local town hall and they will open it. Its 4 to visit but a donation is aporeciated. Some of the items that I saw on my last visit two years ago were no longer on display as these artefacts are genuine and loaned to the museum by local people. However there is lots to see and it's well worth watching the introduction video which is about 10 minutes long. The whole village and Battlefield is pretty much as it was 207 years ago. Many thanks to a local villager Virginia, her husband and son. Well worth a visit

Very complete museum about a very important historic event the battlefield of Arapiles. The tourist guide is very knowledgeable about the battle. Call the Arapiles Ayuntamiento for an appointment to see the museum. The monolith is at a short distance. Go ready with hiking shoes to walk up the monolith. It has an excellent view. There is a cafeteria at the Repsol gas station at the entrance of Arapiles. Hotels will be in Salamanca a fifteen minutes drive.

Fuimos de visita y la verdad que fue mucho más interesante de lo que pensaba, he de decir que me encanto. La maqueta de la recreación de la batalla es preciosa y todas las vitrinas tienen su encanto. Muy recomendable!!
