This is our local post office and the employees here are always patient, friendly and help us make sure that we get our mail and packages delivered to where they need to be within the necessary time period. I had a friend sending a package to NZ that was going to be very expensive and the woman helping us was not only patient but helped review all possible options. It was a few days before Christmas and the PO was packed with a long line and still this woman was very kind and served us with a smile.

The workers, carriers, and managers of this San Anselmo post office do not hold their own service in esteem by such practices as not answering their phone, having no voice mail, nor any other mediums for customer contact nor providing information about their local regulations on their website. Then, they hold the customers responsible for not knowing a particular local regulation. They are running themselves out of business and would be, if people did not have to rely on mail being delivered. I used to defend the local post office; now, I understand that others use alternative private delivery services, when they can. These San Anselmo post office employees have come a long way from the American tradition of the sanctity of mail delivery. I hope they will take this feedback they are being given and improve.
