This is the school district thay I've been proudly associated with from 1967 -2015 48 years. I actually when to school in the EISD from 1959- 1963 Holy Cross High School. If adding these years, then I've been in Edgewood for 52 years ! In 1959 the streets were made of caliche and the flooding was a true nightmare! The street & flooding problems have been greatly improved thanks to C.O.P.S. It is a district that is starved of cash, but that consistently preforms small & important unreported miracles ! It is also the school district that the press seems to have a perverse pleasure in meligning it every time it can. The Districts problems are splashed all over the news, while it successes are ignored. Its teachers & students are thought of as being, somehow, second rate. Everyone is constantly reminded of Edgewood's problems, as if other districts have no problems. School districts on the North & Northest side seem to have only successes, but never problems. It is the district where I've met some of the most remarkable people in my life - my former students & fellow teachers. I am honored that I consider many, many of them as friends, not just former students & fellow teachers. Their successes and accomplishments strive to keep me positive. I am Edgewood proud! It it is the \True Pride of the West Side \ !!!!!
