Dz Akins is an all around eating restaurant the menu is a novel and it is to hard to choose I spend 20 minutes just on bakery items. Try an egg cream my parents favorite. Try The Ted Lietner or the chicken and waffles. Black and white cookies. You will enjoy. That you can order everything to go including bakery good . Just call ahead or go through delivery service you will love it

I'm from North Jersey originally and had a hard time finding a deli in San Diego that met my very picky standards. This place was not only the best in San Diego but put most of the delis from back home on notice too. It's a bit pricey but until you see the portions you don't realize you're underpaying for the quality and size of the meals you're getting. My wife takes me out for my birthday each year and I could pick any restaurant I wanted but I always pick DZ Akins. Also since covid is a thing now i feel obligated to say they are doing more than other restaurants to create a safe environment for their patrons and I really appreciate that since I'm in a high risk group.
This place is my preferable restaurant. Of all restaurants I know I prefere it most. I always suggests to my friends to go to visit this place. when I I need a good lunch, this place comes straightaway to my mind. Great and many types of food and a rich menu.courteous staff members, and good spirit. Also important, the tariff is decent. I recommend this spot with no hesitation.
Our first visit was already amazing. The are very COVID compliant and neat. Customers were being let into the store maybe 3-4 at a time? They were very patient with us as it was our first time. Seeing the big menu and bakery/deli items is pretty overwhelming, but they will answer any questions you have! We were recommended the eclair, so we got that along with some other goodies to accompany our meals. The sandwich is PACKED and can honestly feed 2 adults...but I was hungry their omelette meal is super tasty, and probably the most flavorful I've tasted. I'm sure the rest of their menu is just as delish, and we can't wait to try the rest of it.
Haven't visited in maybe 7 or so years and not because of anything other than there are so many restaurants in San Diego. Pandemic conditions are no fun but DZ Akins seem to have that under control as there were many outdoors dinners. No surprise as the food is really exceptionally good. And even though one of our orders were botched via miscommunication, even that was good. Hands down, 5
