One of the biggest tourist attractions of America. The place seen on many movies with actual history behind it. The ferry ride was very enjoyable and scenic, about 5-10 in duration. On island, there is a self guided tour, they provide you with a audio recording to listen to. It is very very well made and full of interesting facts and details.

This is a lot of bang for your bucks! We took the early bird trip, first ferry of the day, and it was worth it as it doesnt get too crowded. Youre walking along on your own, with complementary headphones explaining and narrating the history of famous inmates and the history of Alcatraz. Very, very interresting!! Youre welcome to stay as long as you want, and take any returning ferry back.
Great place to check out! Interesting history however as of fall 2020 with the pandemic much of the area was closed off and lots of construction. Great views! Check the weather before going.
THE ROCK!!!! One of the best experiences in my life... the whole tour with the guided headphones tour it was so interactive so you can feel and see what happened and when and which place took part all this things. You can feel goosebumps in every corner. With a boat from pier 33 it's approx 15-20mins and it's so nice cause we can see San Fran from another point of view. Definitely I'll recommend this place and everyone has to put it in the bucket list
This tour is definitely one of the best you will ever go on. The night tour is the best one to do because you see what it looks like during the day and night. And you get to see a place where The Rock was filmed.
