We arrived on December 21 to Casa Tequila with water running under the front door. We should of stopped right there and requested a refund. The place was run down and dirty; broken furniture, the towels were ragged, the dishes in the cabinets were dirty, shower drains full of hair, no floor mats, patio was gritty with dirt and sand, living area had one couch and a rocking chair for a place that sleeps six. We were paying premium price as it was Christmas week. You would think that the owners would be sure the place was in top condition when charging premium rates, instead the owner told us that the place had been TRASHED by the previous tenant, and they didn't have time to rectify the problems, but we were still expected to pay the full holiday rate. It wasn't until we went to their rental office to complain that they admitted to the problems. We sent them an email listing the issues, and requested to meet with them to come to a resolution. They were reluctant to meet us, and finally after calling more that once, one of the owners came to the meeting and berated us for 10 minutes about the email we sent his wife Vicky, the co-owner and property manager. I grew up in the hospitality industry. Number one rule don't argue with the customer. They are on holiday, and don't want to hassle with property/owner issues. Be proactive, if you know there is a problem, admit the issue to the customer and state that you are working on getting it fixed ASAP. Waiting to see if the customer complains is cowardly, cheap, and puts you in a defensive position in a situation that you can't win, especially in this era of internet reviews. We ended up getting one night free and a bottle of tequila. Was that worth the hassle that we had to deal with for 3 days, and staying in a run down place for a week? No. There are many nice places in this village, look elsewhere.
