I have the best time at Shaka! I stayed for 8 nights and would have stayed longer if I had the time. The staff, Ana, Israel and Roman, immediately welcomed me and made me feel like family. They included me and the other guests in a beach field trip, hike and to eat meals together. I loved the complimentary breakfast in the morning, oatmeal and fruit, and the hostel felt like home. In the best location in San Pancho, close to the beach and all of the restaurants. The beds were super comfortable and each bed had a private mini fan.

As in his name, Shaka Surf House is more than just a hostel, this is your home! We ended up there instead of Sayulita thanks to the good reviews of this hostel and we'll never regret it! San Pancho is amazing and this place as well. In a few days, the people surrounded us became our family and friends. It's very clean and you'll get a homemade Mexican breakfast everyday. Beds are comfy and there's airco in the room during the night. But as I already mentioned, the best is the atmosphere of this small fishing village, a nice mix of Mexicans and international people all as welcoming as possible. A small corner of paradise!
Great staff and fellow travelers. Lots of ppl stay longer over here. It's a place to think, grow and share love.

Shaka surf house is the best place to stay in San Pancho. Close to the beach, clean, good breakfast and AMAZING staff. My experience there has been unforgettable, especially since the staff made me feel at home and proposed a lot of activities (surfing, hiking, good restaurants). Thank you so much Shaka, I'll be back for sure!
To repeat 5 out of 5 as I said before. I now have my own place in San Pancho but I miss the staff so much that I visit them almost every day to get a fresh dose of positive thinking, spirituality, immeasurable human kindness, and warmth. Would you believe, although I'm no longer a paying guest at Shaka Surf House, I'm still treated as one? In short, once you are a guest of Shaka's, you are always a guest. I still marvel at how HARD the staff works...constantly cleaning and looking around to make sure things are up to par and doing everything they possibly can to make not only their guests feel comfortable, but anyone who comes into the facility. Let me give you an example. I was standing at the corner down the street from Shaka when a party of six wondered why they were told they could take a taxi at that corner when none was in sight. I suggested one of them should go to Shaka and ask Gabbi who was at the front desk at the time and ask him to call them a cab. For some reason, Gabbi was unable to get anyone on the phone. So he asked a coworker to watch the front desk while he got on his bike and RACED to the next nearest taxi corner to get a taxi to pick up the group. In his view, it was all part of his job. That is to say, to give excellent customer service to every and anyone who crosses the threshold of Shaka Surf House. I understand the owner of the business is a man called José Luís. He's to be complimented for having such great staff. ¡Enhorabuena, José Luís!
