Im giving 3 stars because it is the most difficult process to get someone on the line to make an appointment. Everytime I’ve called I’ve been on long waits only to be eventually disconnected. I’ve had to call multiple times before I finally get through to someone. Also, the doctors are very rude atleast the ones who do ultrasounds for pregnant women. But the facility itself is very nice and clean.

Very clean and modern clinic, very capable. One thing I realized though, like in the U.S., the specialists evaluate and treat you according to how much money they believe they will make on your case. I saw gastroenterologists twice there- one, a doctor C****n, several years ago, was quite arrogant, after he determined I did not need any big ticket procedures. The other, recently, Dr. M*******a, was all over it when I asked for help, but after making and referring me to several "consults" (translation: a way to spread the around to your colleagues), she refused to answer a few questions about the procedure she made the big bucks (nuevo soles) on...welcome to modern industrialized medicine.
Anglo Americano is an incredible clinic! It is perefctly clean and an incredible exemplar of order and effiency in a chaotic country. More than that, the care i have received from doctors here has been excellent; vastly superior to smaller private practice clinics found throughout the city.
I’ll preface that the only reason this place got a 2 stars is because one out the 20 people i dealt with was somewhat competent. Almost no one speaks English, everything take 3 times too long (on average every 5-10 min procedures takes 2 hours in administration, waiting, and redundant steps and paperwork); also BEWARE- they will tell you to get guaranty of payment letters from insurance company and still try to charge you or try to tell you to pay cash when they take cards AND the CC machine is right on counter. They will eventual take a card. I had guarantee letters for every procedure stating the specific procedures were 100% covered and they told me I had to still pay full price. Ridiculous and fraudulent. I walked out of three ordered procedures, wasted three weeks of waiting, three full days, back and forth between buildings getting the runaround...won’t ever go back, I’d rather fly to the states and know I’m getting good, efficient service for what’s being paid for and not ripped off
It's my first time stationary in a hospital and I feel very good here and well treated. All the stuff is so nice and warmhearted and they give all the best to make me well as soon as possible. Dr. Ruiz can even talk German to me, this helps a lot. (: Thanks so much to all the wonderful human beings working here. Here I lost my fear of hospials, this place is really a good place and has a really high standard. I have the feeling, I get here way much better treated than I would back in Switzerland.
Due to an accident (second degree burning) during our travels through South America we were forced to see a specialist immediately. The German embassy recommended this hospital to us and we are very grateful for this perfect recommendation. We always felt in good and competent hands (also everyone spoke good English) and even got a direct appointment with the hospital's plastic surgeon, Dr. Silva. He did an excellent job!!! We can only recommend this hospital, especially for travelers in Peru.
The world's most expensive hospital, where a two day stay for dehydration and stomach sickness will cost over 5,000. The hospital is completely uncompromising and added completely unnecessary medical imaging in order to increase the bill. Unless you are rich, stay away from this place.
I have to preface this review with this: THE DOCTORS HERE ARE INCOMPETENT AND DONT SPEAK ENGLISH. This place is terrible, I was treated for one night and when they were putting the IV into my arm they struck a nerve and made my hands and feet go numb. They had to try two more times to actually hit my vein. That’s not even the worst part. My insurance company requires a doctor to fill out a medical claim or a “medical benefits request” in order to be reimbursed for that night. On my first attempt, I gave the doctors the form to fill out. It’s a simple half page form, asking for name of the physician and hospital, and what they charged me for. It took them three hours to return a severely incomplete form that had incorrect information. I went back to the reception desk to have them fill out the rest of my claim, but the receptionist yelled at me saying the doctor has done all he could. I tried sending the form to aetna(my insurance company), but with it being so incomplete they told me to send it again. I came back to the hospital, and demanded to walk a doctor through the insurance form. Being in an Anglo American hospital youd expect there to be english speaking doctors, but no, it’s only the receptionist that speaks english. The doctor got fustrated and told me “this is not my job” and wasn’t going to do it, i retorted with “You’re a doctor, filling out insurance forms is half your job”, then I got sent back to the receptionist desk, who called one of the hospital heads. She told me to write what the doctor is supposed to put down, and have the doctor either transcribe it or sign the copy I wrote. Now I’m doing the doctors job while he goes and has the receptionist jerk him off while she tells him how great he is. Terrible hospital, terrible doctors.
