Yes, EDD is a mess and the state didn't fix things up when it had the chance. And, yeah, the system is overloaded with so many people trying to call in. But you can get through if you are persistent enough. I've gotten through four times in the past week and three times in the past 24 hours. But to do this, and to do it during the middle of the day, takes a cool head and some determination. This last call I was wardialing non-stop for several hours. But I did get in and had to wait a couple of hours on the phone to have my number in the phone line get called, so to speak. You don't want to be calling after like 4pm because if you need to be handed off to a case worker it'll be too late and you won't have time (given the lengthy call cue waiting their turn). As with any call center the front line agents don't know much and have limited powers so you will have to wait on hold twice...first to get the front line person and then a second wait to get to the case worker. Total time from start of war-dialing to having my issue resolved was about five hours. It would have been less as I actually got through immediately at 8am, was on hold for a minute before the front line person answered and then was immediately put on hold for the case worker. However the call dropped while on hold so the first 15 minutes of effort resulted in failure and I then had to go into wardial mode to get back in again. I totally get why people would be annoyed with this. However considering how many millions of people are going through this right now, it's going to be rough going no matter how good, how well prepared the call center is given the numbers of unemployed. Best you can do is know that this is going to be a slog and to prepare accordingly.

Ridiculous. They stop paying you and don’t tell you why. Then you try reaching out to them for a whole day but you get nowhere.

You guys have actually made it more difficult to contact you and on top of it, it takes longer to contact you only to be turned away. This is the most disappointing form of help I've ever received most of you need to just be fired
