The team at Townsend Auto superseded my expectations. I dropped my vehicle off over the weekend and it was ready for pickup within 48 hours! The level of service and expertise is unmatched! My name is Martise and I own a 1984 Cadillac Biarritz Convertible and I took it in to Townsend's Automotive a month ago and just got it out yesterday. I've been dealing with Townsend's ever since it was located on Coleman and Taylor over 25 years ago. I knew Larry Sr. the owner back then and he was a great hands on mechanic. Larry Sr. had integrity and he would talk to the customer and solve issues in a timely manner. These days things have changed at Townsend's Automotive, and I'm not just talking about the location....Larry Jr. (the new owner) is unfortunately not nearly as professional as his father was. He does not seem to have any hands on experience like his father did. The communication from Larry Jr. was not clear and I felt that over the course of the 30 days I was put on the back burner and every time I called to check on the progress, I felt he was stumbling around and not clearly communicating what the problem with my vehicle was. Larry Jr. would never call me proactively to give updates, I was always chasing him for information. A few times I called throughout the month, and a woman answered and said that Larry Jr. would call me back that day and he never did. Unprofessional. Larry Sr. would never dream of treating a customer like this! On top of all this, when I asked for my used parts back that they replaced (spark plug wires, distributor cap) they couldn't find them and they misplaced them so I couldn't get my credit back from O'Reily's Automotive parts. They also couldn't fix my idle. The mechanics are mostly Spanish speaking and I could not communicate with them in English. So when I asked Larry Jr. to translate my concerns about my vehicle to the mechanic, it was clear that Larry Jr. CAN'T speak Spanish! How does this business communicate with each other internally?!?!? I suspect this is a major source of problems for many customers at this establishment. It looks like I will taking my vehicle else where from now on...
