As any intrepid Mexico traveller knows, each self-respecting town maintains a Mercado Municipal. Some pretty crappy, but most offer a clean variety of fresh edibles and I am referring to the food stalls independently managed by hard-working matriarchs. Meet Zulema. She and her extended family have built a reputable little empire on her down home cooking skills. And it shows, she has absorbed neighboring stalls and runs a tight ship serving reliably tasty and generous portions of made to order meals until late afternoon. Fresh salsas and copious servings of low carb veggies await the lucky ones who catch a seat when the daily munching gets in gear. The Market was recently renovated which makes it an even more attractive lunch spot. On Sundays a young guy named Efrem helps serve tables, he is an extraordinarily attentive and friendly boy and should be the next mayor of Los Cabos, if not governor. Ask for him by name and tell him he's famous on the internet, take a pic of his smile and enjoy a glorious day in Mexico.
