Love all the fun and meditation from skill building my pottery techniques at SLO Makerspace. What would I do without this fantastic place? Thank you for the positive and peaceful opportunities.

I've been involved with the MakerSpace for over a year now, and it has been awesome to see the organization grow. I've never felt so much endearing camaraderie with a community like this before. Everyone who comes in and staffs is earnest, and I love seeing the projects they and other members are working on. It's quite inspirational. I've picked up a number of hands on skills here that I never would have had the chance to elsewhere. Thanks!

My family was excited to try this place out but we had a negative experience. Signed up my son for the Tinkering School Workshop building a soap box car. I arrived a little early and found him playing with Legos and wanting to go home. This is a kid who LOVES to build things. After talking with him there were numerous issues that I won't go into detail here do to space and time constraints but bad decisions were made with a \don't care\ attitude (for example the owner's son, who was too young for the class, punched my son in the stomach. I was also not told about this when I picked him up). If it was one small problem I wouldn't bother and just shrug it off. But my son was so upset and bummed from the whole experience that I feel the need to warn others. To top it all off...this was their first Tinkering Workshop yet they felt no need or desire to ask the parents or kids how it went. Don't you ask for feedback when you are trying something new?! If they would have they would have heard an earful then instead of a stupid review here. But that is the mentality of this place, they don't care. We left early and my son was obviously upset but we barely got a nod good bye.

SLO Makerspace has a wide set of tools and a great space to work. They have a number of options for membership that support short term or recurring work. I paid for a month membership to work on a specific project with the laser cutter.
