Many people only post reviews after a bad experience unfortunately, so I'm going to speak on behalf of the majority of the community who, by and large, have nothing but positive interactions with San Marcos Police Department on a daily basis. The police officers and staff members always conduct their affairs with the utmost level of professionalism and expertise. Their swift and efficient response to calls is the key reason why I always feel safe in San Marcos. The department also regularly makes it their priority to engage with citizens at community outreach programs and local events.

My car had gotten hit by someone and I called the Police Department to get an officer out for a police report (I did not want to bother the actual emergency line as no one was injured thankfully!). The lady who answered was rude and refused to send someone out to me. Absolutely a night mare.

Wound up in a roundabout both times I tried to make reports. waited at the station for 2 hours after being asked to come in.
