We went on the hiking tour through Los Pichachos mountains and the 28 - 30km cycling tour. The hiking tour was absolutely breath taking. Take a short trip out of town to the base of the mountains with Alberto and his delightful German shepherd. And then hike up to the top. Alberto gives some wonderful insights to the history and the Mexican people. Stop and check out some ancient rock paintings then head back down. Wonderful views throughout. A couple days later we went on the 3hr 28 km mountain bike tour. Once again it was great to have insights on the history. Alberto is very passionate about his people. My wife had never done trail riding before so the pace was just right. Once again there were great views. We finished at the hot springs which was also a fantastic experience. There is a water cave at the hot springs which act much like a steam room, with a heavy waterfall which people line up to get a water massage. Excellent for recovery after sitting in the saddle for a few hours. Alberto is a gentleman and a great guide, his dog Molly is a champion and was a highlight of the hiking tour. Highly recommend. 5 stars.

I wanted to go on a guided ride but couldn’t fit one around the schedule of the non-riders that I was with. I was able to however, get some very good riding in. Gabriel and Alberto set me up a 29” Hardtail MTB, and I had some fantastic city rides. I wouldn’t recommend this for a casual cyclist, but if you have road and mountain bike experience,SMA with its steep cobblestone hills is fantastic for early morning and late afternoon rides. Once you get to know the area you can find empty streets, climb like you were in Moab, and explore in and around SMA. Better drivers here than anywhere else that I have ridden. You need to be in sync with them, but as long as you use courtesy, the drivers seem to repay in kind. I can’t believe how many cars stopped and waved me through uncontrolled intersections. Wouldn’t work that way back in most places that I have ridden. If your on Strava find my segments and see if you can take my KOMs!

Great tour - we drove to La Gruta, cycled out into the countryside past Atotonilco (approx 26km) and then finished up at the hot springs. No need for specialist cycle gear as gloves, helmets and bikes included. He also provides water, and towels and padlocks for the springs. Can't recommend enough
