Valley of the Moon, as it is more commonly known, is well worth the visit, particularly for sunset pictures. I don't know if it's the same every evening, but the sky was brilliant for photography when I was there. Do try and get a good spot well in time; people get very pushy there! The most popular trip in the Atacama, and VERY crowded towards sunset. Probably the most uninspiring tour of our six tours in the Atacama - though still interesting if you haven't done much exploring of this kind. Pretty good scenery for much of the trip, but emphasis is placed on 'the sunset'. The area will be very crowded and if you want to get good photos, get there early and stake your place. You have to keep within a perimeter rope - and people WILL TRY to push in front of you. Recommended for good sunset photography, otherwise many of the other trips are better.

This is a beautiful desert landscape of the Three Maria's. You can see then kneeling down to pray, cradling a child, and reaching to the skies in prayer. This site served as a religious reminder for the exploers and miners that traversed through here.
Amazing landscape. I highly recommend to go on a bicycle. You can only access the park before 13:00. Bring lots of water with you.
The place in the park where it is truly quiet. I'm not sure how worth it was coming down an extra 3 km here on the bike but it was completely silent here and the rocks are special.
Beautiful because the rain form a few months ago turned the view as a snow-like place made by salt.
Incredible, and a must see while in Atacama. I recommend skipping the tour and self-driving to better explore the valley, but do your research before on the best locations and time to catch sunset.
Really nice natural sculptures of salt carved by the nature with all of its glory! A very nice place for pictures in a unique scenery! It's very close to San Pedro de Atacama and all agencies have a tour for taking you there!
Highly overrated. Explore on your own from outside park and walk in back entrance. Many sites closed, salt mine closed, 'No Pasar' every where, information minimal, no rangers on site, plaques with info are all stolen and not replaced. Drive route 27 and 23 as far as possible instead and you'll be blown away by the beautiful valleys and mountains, and it's free!
