The park was closed when we arrived, but we were able to walk around the whole area. It is a sobering environment. The battle destroyed a village that had been around for over 600 years. So many people died here. Well worth a 30-minute stop.

If you passing by or stay in Cassino come here to visit this little gem. Is the old village of San Pietro Infine, totally destroyed during the WWII. At the foot of the village there is a little museum about the history of the place with old pictures and a little cinema showing the documentary by John Huston. The staff is very pleasent and well appassionate about.

Il parco della memoria storica di S.Pietro Infine è un luogo che merita rispetto e tanta attenzione magari anche una riqualificazione del sito. Sicuramente merita la visita il Museo Giorni e Orari di apertura Orario estivo:Sabato e Domenica Mattina:10:30 – 13:00 Pomeriggio:15:30 – 18:30 Salendo le stradine selciate ad ampi gradini si viaggia nella storia, tra le rovine dell’antico borgo di San Pietro Infine (X-XI sec d.C.) completamente distrutto nel dicembre del ’43 durante gli eventi bellici della Seconda Guerra Mondiale.Le rovine di San Pietro restano a testimonianza delle atrocità della guerra e costituiscono una sorta di museo all’aperto

Piccolo decisamente ma valido perché se nn fosse per loro sarebbe perso tutta la storia del paese. Ben organizzato e lodevole la guida. Consiglierei di agganciare una visita guidata tra i ruderi del paese vecchio
