I parked at "The Marc" as suggested by Pierre below. The branch was so efficient that my parking ticket didn't even have time to fall into the "1 hr" pay slot and this after we walked around the mall. They were Efficient, Friendly and the precautions for Covid were top-notch. I would definitely use them again even though I stay in the East Rand.

Excellent experience at the Home Affairs office. The entire experience I had from when I paid online until I received an sms that my ID card was ready for collection literally took a week. Very impressive indeed! A round of applause is in order. However, the parking situation is insane! Completely insane! The security guy at the entrance tells you firstly you are at the wrong gate, then you must use this entrance then walk for 500 metres then use this and that lift then walk another 500 metres then turn left then right then left....how the hell am I supposed to remember all that while there's people behind me in their cars that also want to enter the parkade!!!! Worst parking experience ever! So, THE SOLUTION dear visitors: Just Park at THE MARC shopping centre literally next door takes ten seconds to do, and walk across to Nedbank. Go up the stairs and immediately through the doors to the right. Simple and wayyyyy easier.

the online application process was a pretty terrible experience, but there was nothing wrong at the branch. everyone was friendly and the whole thing took me less than an hour (i was pretty much last in line for the timeslot i booked). probably the part of this whole thing was finding out that afro's chicken next door was closed. my soul was crushed.

This office is inside the Nedbank branch and can be visited by appointment only. You have to do your passport or ID application online on the departments website, do your payment via your Nedbank online banking and then book your appointment. It generally takes about 2 weeks to get your documents.
