I was in the market for a boat loan and I honestly couldn't be happier with the service we received. Adi Menon at the Service Center in Sandy was extremely responsive, explained everything in great detail, and made the whole process a breeze. Do yourself a favor and see the difference in service and rates that you can get at MACU.

This is easily the worst banking experience I have ever had. Darren Hill needs to get a new job where he can collect money without doing anything. I applied for a loan, spent hours and days filling out all the information and taking in my documents. As soon as all my paperwork was handed in I couldn't get mountain America to email me back or call me back. Finally heard back after months on something that should have taken days. Mountain America has gotten to big to care.

I will forever avoid using any MACU branch in the future. When applying to co-sign on an auto loan, I asked a specific question relating to my situation before submitting the application, and was told my concern would not affect my ability to qualify as a co-signer. They went ahead and pulled a hard credit check (which they are always plenty quick to do) and then I was not approved for the loan BECAUSE OF THE ONE SPECIFIC THING I ASKED ABOUT AND WAS TOLD WOULD BE FINE. I then proceeded to make THIRTEEN phone calls over the course of three weeks to try and resolve the situation. MACU offered no helpful solutions even though this whole mess was because of a mistake on their end. On multiple occasions I was told a representative would call me back, but aside from one time it always took me calling back or emailing to receive a response. I never even heard back from the original employee (I was told his name was Thomas) who misinformed me before submitting the application. In the end, we couldn’t move forward with the loan, and MACU didn’t do anything to make right their wrongs. Thankfully there are other competent credit unions in the area, and we will be taking our business elsewhere. I communicated with one individual (Kaylie) from the Sandy branch for most of the time I was attempting to resolve the issue, but will be posting this review with other branches in the valley, as the general MACU “customer service” line was also no help.

BOO!!!! This review should be 0 stars, but that's not an option! I called customer service after hours department and the girl Liz C. helping me was so RUDE! I get that it's a holiday and the branch is closed, but you don't have to be so mean! I called telling her that I was having troubles getting my debit card activated and she said she needed to verify my account to help me. Once she rudely told me how grateful I should be that she was able to pull up my account by moving numbers around because I don't know their policy on how to pull up an account, she told me she could take a message and have someone get back to me. WHAT A JOKE! Why even have after hours services if they can't do anything. The best part, when I asked her for her name and last name, she said she didn't feel comfortable giving me her last name. I laughed, she asked me for all of my sensitive information and then she doesn't "feel comfortable" giving me her last name so that I can report her terrible customer service. Give me a break. I'll be calling corporate about this terribly rude customer service person tomorrow. I expect more from a LOCAL credit Union! If people are going to be rude, don't employ them for customer service!!!!

Allie in the service center should find another job. I called in to make my mortgage payment and she was trying to transfer me to another number, saying she could not see my mortgage account. which has never happened before when I have called in. So I asked her to do a shared branch transfer while I had her on the phone, to which she said it will take a couple days to go through the system, because it has to go back to the home branch and come back? this is a lie. I called the branch and they are able to see my mortgage on my account, and they said when I make the transfer it would be immediate. I know that branches and the service center both use SYMITAR! most credit unions use the same system with Symitar. so why is Allies system magically unable to do the same things as everyone else's computers in the whole Credit Union? very puzzling.. honestly if you want anything done right you HAVE to go to the branch there is no other option, also Allie was pretty condescending, and unwilling to listen to what I was saying. she had pre canned responses ready to go. I hope I get surveyed. Mountain America is better then that. step it up with the hires. To sum it up. I know that you all use the same system (Symitar). so how come the branches are always able to quickly handle the same thing that is so difficult for the service center. it is supposed to be convenient to call in. but it never is. its like pulling teeth to get them to do the simplest of things. super frustrating because Mountain America is a great place to do business. I have not had problems with anything here at Mountain America except the Service center. so frustrating. this just is the straw that broke the camels back.
