I was lucky enough to be under Dr. Kaufman's care for approximately 1.5 years. He is an extraordinary physician and person. His broad knowledge of addiction and recovery is refreshing. I always felt like Dr. K \heard\ me, never once did I feel judged by him because of my addiction or anything else for that matter. He understood the process of addiction and relapse and while he promotes MAT and recovery, he didn't throw me away when I did relapse. He gave me chance and also choice. He has excellent bedside manner and just a great personality-if I cud rate him 10 stars I would. :) While no longer under his care I STILL have a huge amount of respect for Dr.K. He saw a person rather than just a diagnosis(or two lol). He encouraged me to see value and worth in myself and lifted me up, never tore me down. He also highly encouraged me to do the work, and use MAT as yet another tool in recovery-not a medication that would fix me on its own ... He is a fantastic physician who I highly respect and recommend.
