Completed the Lower Wekiva trail as part of the Florida State Forest Trailwalker Program. The trail is about 10.6 miles. The trail is well marked and easy to follow. The first half was well shadded however the second half is not. Bring sun screen. Also you may want to call ahead if to see if it is hunting season. It was season when we were there however didn't run into any hunters or hear anything near us. As a precaution I carried bear spray and a bear whistle. I would recommend GPS'ing the trail if you can. It helped keep me on track for how far I went and my remaining distance.

It looks like there was a pretty big fire that messed up a lot of the trails. We followed what we thought was one trial and it ended right before a construction site at a main road. Not sure which way we were supposed to go, but was a little disappointed after paying to park and not getting much of a hike in.
