Pretty empty trail to the top with a great view on the southern coast of Tenerife.
Very hard in 28 degrees. Not alot of shaded areas. Go prepared with gallons of water
We did the hike from Adeje to the top, and down to the other side of the mountain. Hike from Adeje is around 2 hours long to the top. At the beginning there is information desk, where they give information only for the payed tour that goes on the other side to the waterfalls. The free hike from Adeje to the top is around 4,5 km. It is pretty steep, with rocks on the way. You cannot see much more than cactuses and rocks on the way. When you reach the top, the view is very nice. You can see practically whole south cost. We went down the hill on the other side of the mountain. The way is not so steep, it goes through the shade and is 1,7 km long. There are many gates and closed roads on the way (private properties). You can get around them, its not big of a deal. The first village, La Quinta is totally empty. You cannot buy or see anything there. A walk to the next village Taucho is 20 min long, where there is a nice restaurant and you can call a taxi to pick you up there. This is one of the oldest areas in Tenerife. Its nice to see.
Its an amazing place. We went there to meet sunset and it was worth it. We left our car in La Quinta and went about 25 min on the top of Boca del Paso. The route is short and very easy, but the view from the top is incredibly. Highly recommended!
