Nice photo op and good info about tours of the glacier. The lady who attended us had toured the glacier on foot and by boat and was knowledgeable about both options.

You can require information about Calafate. Also you can bring your pladtic bottles to the bins they have next to the building. It is at the entrance of the village. There is a Christmas tree next to the building, of course the lights aren't on. You can't miss it. Coming from the airport is at second round about after police control.

Unfortunately I wasn't much helped here.. after a long bus trip from Puenta Arenas in Chile, I finally made it to Argentina, so El Calafate was my first place in Argentina to visit. Of course I didn't have an Argentinian sim card yet, so finding accomodation in El Calafate wasn't possible at first, because I didn't have cellular internet. So I made my way to this tourist information place. The lady at the reception did help me find vacant accomodation spots around El Calafate on her computer. When I asked if I could use the phone to ring up vacant hostels, since I didn't have a sim card, she declined. Oh well, could I use the wifi then? Yes you may. So I booked a vacant place online. I wasn't planning to stay long in El Calafate, so I wanted to buy my next bus ticket from the station immediately after I booked my acoomadation. I asked the lady if I could shortly leave my lugguage there, in order to just nick over to the bus station around the corner to fetch my ticket. No, wasn't possible. I was the only one there, there was plenty of space, I had 3 huge bags and was sweating and tired from the long trip. Of course she only obeyed the work rules, and thats totally fine, but I don't really call that an empathetic service, since she knew what my situation was, that my Spanish wasn't good and I was having a hard time on that day. Mind you, Im writing this review 3 months later, and I still had this somewhat annoying, unfriendly lady at this tourist information place on my mind, when I think of El Calafate! I thought El Calafate welcomes tourists and helps them feel comfortable.. nope! At least not THIS place!

Very helpful!! Good information about the park. They have public restrooms as well. There are interesting plants and mechanical exhibits on the well landscaped grounds also.
