I took a two weeks trip last year to Botswana with Jami and Theo, and can say, without any hesitation that this was the best travel experience of my life. The trip was superbly planned and everything exceeded my expectations! I was joyfully overwhelmed by the amount of wild life we saw and experienced in the bush. Jami, Theo and their guides always took the time to answer any question we may have had regarding animal behaviors and wildlife , which i found fascinating. Everyone was super friendly, the staff was amazing (we ate like royalty in the middle of the bush!) and the trip provided the perfect amount of excitement while feeling safe at all times. I cannot recommend this trip enough. Kudos to Jami and Theo for providing this kind of service and experience; it was truly magical.

Trip to Botswana with Wild Focus, Aug 2019. Truly an amazing experience. You couldn’t possibly be closer to nature, deep in the bush, with wildlife all around, including in camp. I added about 7k clicks to the shutter count on my camera, mostly because everyday on our game drives we had more wildlife sightings than we could handle. To have lions within 10 feet of the vehicles was not uncommon, and safe I would add because of the experience Jami and Theo bring, along with that of our guides. To top things off, the cuisine everyday was delicious, with a lot of local dishes, and a camp staff that came to feel like family. If you’re looking for an authentic and intimate safari experience, in the wild, look no further than Wild Focus!

I have returned to travel with Wild Focus Expeditions on a number of occasions and continue to be 'blown away'. They offer the total experience in often difficult to reach locations. Their (Jami Tarris & Theo Aloffs) credentials as wildlife and landscape photographers are globally recognised and rewarded. They are both eager to share their vast photographic abilities and have an intimate knowledge of their locations and the cultures, this gained from long standing local connections. This means everyone, from professionals and enthuiastic amateurs to 'iPhone photographers' will return with exceptional images and/or video. They are unmatched in creating opportunities that would be otherwise out of reach. A company with a genuine commitment to conservation and to their fellow travellers enjoyment and success. 5 Stars.

I traveled with Wild Focus Expedition twice. Once to Kenya and then to Botswana. I wish everybody could have this experience. To see and photograph these amazing creatures in their own environment was a life experience I will never forget. Jami and Theo were ever helpful with camera hints and made sure we got our pictures before we moved on to the next beautiful scene and animal group. I trusted them, our guides and the keepers of the accomodations kept us safe and comfortable. I look at my photographs now and they bring back the pleasure of these safari expeditions.

The Svalbard expedition was certainly a trip of a lifetime for me! It is such a surreal setting, so beautiful yet so desolate at the same time. We spent ten days on the MS Freya, a lovely, very comfortable boat with an exceptional crew, who spend so many hours making sure that the guests’ every need is met. The food was amazing. I am a vegetarian (the only one on the ship) and the chef created a separate dish for me every day. Our three bear guides were very special. Each of them has very different backgrounds, and so bring considerable knowledge of wildlife, nature, glaciers, conservation to the expedition. On top of that, they were fun, told crazy stories, and were a pleasure to spend time with. We spent quite a bit of time searching for and taking pictures of the wildlife that Svalbard is known for -polar bears, walrus, seals, arctic fox, reindeer, beluga whales, and so many arctic birds to name! I understand that our three or four sightings of arctic foxes was very rare, not to mention the nine different sightings of beluga whales. On two occasions, we were totally surrounded by the belugas in our zodiac, and even had several swim under our boat! Now I must talk about our trip leaders from Wild Focus Expeditions – Jami and Theo. They happen to be friends of ours in Santa Fe, so I may be a bit partial. But, not knowing what to expect on this type of adventure trip, I was a bit nervous. Silly me – it was the best experience of my lifetime because of the amazing experience, organization and personalities of Jami and Theo. They are so great at helping all the guests with cameras and photography. They are constantly watching all the guests to make sure their needs are met and that they are having a good experience. I am absolutely blown away by both Jami and Theo, and cant wait to sign up for our next trip! I only have one regret – I chickened out when it came my turn to do the polar plunge! I guess I have to return to Svalbard so I can redeem myself!

We have been on three Wild Focus expeditions and will go on a fourth in 2019. Each trip has been special....going places no other expedition company goes! Jami and Theo are true professionals, making the experience stress free and special. You get great access to two great photographers, world class adventure and very personal attention. Wild Focus is a very special experience you don’t want to miss.

I just returned from a trip to Indonesia with Wild Focus Expeditions and, as planned, we had numerous encounters with orangutans in the rainforests — incredible opportunities to photograph and document their behavior. We also found other wildlife, or rather they found us — proboscis monkeys, gibbons, long tailed and pig tailed macaques, kingfisher birds, flying squirrels, wild boars, wild peacocks, geckos, even a chance encounter with a cobra! As a beginner photographer, I was still able to capture amazing photos. Jami and Theo were always ready to help with camera settings, shooting suggestions, and answering my never-ending list of questions. But the trip was so much more than photography - it was an education in wildlife, conservation, and culture too. The trip arrangements, logistics, and preparation material was professional and right on point and made the trip easy and rewarding. The small group made the trip comfortable for a first-timer and beginner photographer. You will not want to miss an opportunity to travel with Jami and Theo of Wild Focus Expeditions!
