They advertised a low cost vaccination clinic for today in Guadalupe and I went but it was a joke. About 100 people in one line, No Social Distancing, people in line with No Masks, And One person giving the shots and he was taking his sweet time with each pet. Very poorly arranged. Don't waste your time going to their low cost vaccination events.

We were looking to adopt a lop bunny a while back from BUNS in Santa Barbara , where we live. The bunny we were interested in had a lot of health issues, so they recommended as first time bunny owners we check out a similar rabbit at the Santa Maria rescue center that was a little bit younger . I have noticed some people giving poor reviews on this website I’m sorry they had a bad experience , but from an actual person, who adopted a pet, I can’t say enough about my experience . We were brand new animal owners. They took time to make sure we were the right fit, and inspected our house. There was another family also interested in the bunny, but We eventually were the family the rescue center chose for his forever home .I thought the experience was very professional and we got a lot of info on how to care and keep our bunny happy. We worked with a woman named ( Tammi)? I think. Sorry it has been a while. We are so happy we came all the way to Santa Maria to adopt our loving , healthy bunny. He is part of our family, and we have no had him 7 years this month. These are tough times , and I’m sure they are doing their best to keep the animals healthy while they wait for their forever homes .

For some reaaon one of person who answers the phones seems to have an attitude about everything so pretty much any adoption question is hard to ask unless you want to be hanged up on.

My family was so nterested in adopting a pet and I spoke to them and they said someone would call back. No one did so I called again. When I called back they told me I should bring my dog and I am normally not opposed buy this weekend there are excessive heat warnings everywhere (116 in San Fernando valley) and I told the lady To was concerned about driving 2-3 hours with my dog in such warm temperatures. She then said \you can use your air conditioning\ I said I still don't feel comfortable bringing my dog out for such a long time and that I think it is inhumane to the animal. She then said she was not going to argue with me and hung up the phone. I was going to suggest that I bring the dog when it was cooler, but apparently The Humane Society is only humane when it is convenient and r can get them donations.
