I was diagnosed early this year with spinal stenosis/extruded disk and was referred to Dr. Nagasawa by a friend. He discussed with me his recommendations and was very attentive to my concerns. By the end of our meeting I was still debating surgery but I felt more at ease after our conversation. This April Dr. Nagasawa preformed a lumbar laminectomy and microdiscectomy. The total procedure took only a few hours. I am currently in recovery but this is the best that I have felt since being diagnosed. I appreciate Dr. Nagasawa for his professionalism and care that he displayed along the way and would recommend him to anyone who finds themselves in a similar situation. Many thanks to you and your staff Chris Ponce

I am thrilled to learn that Dr. Daniel Nagasawa has graduated from his Residency and can now perform his healing magic at Achieve Brain and Spine in Santa Monica. Dr. Nagasawa certainly brings years of study, training, skill, and experience to his profession, but the magic part is his ability to understand and apply the principles of the mind/body connection and overlay all of that with authentic, loving compassion. He deeply understands the whole person part of healing. I know it was from his pre and post-surgery approach of consistent education, guidance, concern, and care as well as his surgical skill that I went from unbearable pain with very limited mobility to living a pain-free, active life adventure in Santiago, Chile at age 77. It's true anything is possible at any age. However, the complications that age can bring to spine health can be overwhelming physically, mentally and emotionally. Dr. Nagasawa understands that on a deep level. He is truly a gift to his profession and the patients he assists to heal. This is a post for Daniel T. Nagasawa

Dr. Nagasawa not only saved my sisters life after her massive stroke, but was also very professional, communicative, compassionate and supportive to my sister and to my family. He helped make the impossible situation with covid lockdowns and not being able to meet with him personally or see my sister more bearable. I trust him explicitly and would highly recommend him!

Dr. Nagasawa performed an emergency craniotomy to resolve a subdural hematoma which I suffered in a fall. It was a life saving procedure and it appears to have been successful. I cannot applaud his skills and care highly enough. I am here and able to write this review because of his diligence.

I ignored lower back/sciatic pain for a long time until I couldn't walk anymore. That's when I got an MRI that showed I had a severely herniated disc. Because of COVID, my first appointment with Dr Nagasawa had to be virtual, but even so, it was fantastic. Since then I've had another appointment, my surgery, and two follow ups, and I feel so lucky to have such a great doctor. Every single appointment is efficient, timely (he is almost never late), and thorough. He always makes sure I understand exactly what's going on in my body, what our plan is, and what happens next. I come in with a million questions each time, and he answers all of them thoroughly. If you need a spine specialist, please do not hesitate to see Dr. Nagasawa. I'm finally close to pain-free for the first time in almost a year.

I recently had a surgery performed by Dr. Nagasawa to treat a herniated disk (& lots of nerve pain) and could not have been more glad I set up my initial consultation when I did. Pre-surgery I would be under 1k steps per day bc of the pain, within 5 days of my procedure I was hitting 10k steps and feeling great. Dr. Nagasawa was friendly, professional, gave honest and frank answers to any questions I had and generally made me feel like I was in exceptionally good hands. As with anything involving a serious medical procedure, the process involves imaging, insurance, consultations w/Dr. Nagasawa, & procedure scheduling (all outside of Dr. Nagasawa's control obviously) but from start to finish it will take a couple of weeks; so if you're reading this and considering setting up a consultation, get that ball rolling as soon as you can.

Dr. Nagasawa completed my Mother's spinal cord surgery after an injury and was fantastic through a very difficult experience. I appreciated that he was responsive and took care to explain what was happening. My Mother appreciated that he frequently check in on her while she was in the hospital to ensure she felt supported and provide her ample opportunities to ask questions. By all accounts, Dr. Nagasawa did a stellar job operating to ensure the best possible prognosis and opportunity for significant recovery.
