Highly recommend Dr. McBride! My mom has been suffering from chronic back pain for more than 30 years. Prior to seeing Dr. McBride, she had a total of (3) surgeries with (3) different prominent orthopedic surgeons, to no avail. Dr. McBride was the one that made the proper diagnosis after careful examination and tests/procedures to narrow down her issues. Her surgery with Dr. McBride was scheduled the afternoon before Thanksgiving. The UCLA facility was understaffed and Dr. McBride personally made sure that her surgery would not get continued and he personally participated to get her ready for surgery and even helped push her hospital bed to the surgery room because the hospital was short staffed. Again, he performed the surgery solo and stayed after surgery to make sure she was OK before going home to his family late the evening before Thanksgiving. Not only he is an amazing surgeon and very well informed, his bed manners are exceptional. He treated my mother like a “delicate flower” until she improved from her surgery. To conclude, my mom is off of narcotic pain medication because of proper diagnosis and surgery by Dr. McBride. He is a gem and we are very grateful to him!

Dr. McBride has operated 3 times and each time was a success. He’s an amazing surgeon who knows what needs to be done. He chooses the least invasive options first which is much appreciated! He is worth the wait!!!! I’d give him more than 5 starts if I could!
I love Dr. McBride! He has performed two cervical and two lumbar surgeries on me and I have had excellent results. He is professional and informative yet has an easy going personality and a sense of humor. Yes I agree he has a lovely bedside manner which is just as important as a skill a doctor might have. I will use him for my neck surgery
He saves nerves like no other spine surgeon I have seen. He is confident, not cocky. His confidence comes from years of experience as a surgeon and in teaching the top med students in the country. He has seen it all and knows how to fix it. He stays calm in stressful situations and has incredible bedside manner and follow up. He truly cares about every single patient.
I will always be grateful for Dr Duncan McBride and his team at UCLA who helped me through successful surgery and so much relief of pain.
Dr. McBride saved my career and my limb function. My spinal cord compression was not straight forward and 4 surgeons had differing opinions. I am a doctor myself and sought many different medical consults and researched my condition the best I could. Dr. McBride and his support staff performed the most thorough exams, spent the most time explaining their findings and the possible solutions to my problem. He showed he truly cared about me as a person and had the best bedside manner of all my doctors. I felt the most comfortable and confident with Dr. McBride. He went above and beyond to specialize the surgery to my body size and problem. He made it the least invasive possible. While the surgery was tough (given its nature), I felt supported by his team. I selected him to perform my surgery, have had a great outcome (3 months later) and am truly thankful for his confidence. Thank you!
I can't express my gratitude enough to Dr. McBride. I went from having severe pain every day to absolutely no pain immediately after my surgery. He is a fabulous doctor who is highly skilled and well-regarded by other neurosurgeons. He truly is a superhero doctor.
If I could give Dr. McBride a million stars I would. I spent most of the year in chronic pain and mostly bedridden. I went from doctor to doctor, desperately looking for help and none of them were able to help me. Until I met Dr. Mcbride. He performed a minimally invasive procedure on my back at the end of July. I walked out of the hospital the same day, and now, three months later, I am able to do everything I could do before. Zero pain and a huge amount of gratitude to him. I cannot enthuse enough on how remarkable he and his team were. A special mention to Camille who treated each of my calls as if I were his only patient.
