Don't forget yo visit Salinas de Santa Pola, a natural park on the province of Alicante. You can get there by road N332, enjoying the Tamarit tower and flamingoes walking the pink water (the color is caused by tiny red crayfishes who live there) And, of course, you must see the Museum of salt (Museo de la Sal).

Very small museum about the regions Salt history. Worth checking out if you have the time, some interesting facts but nothing that will blow your mind unless your super into salt

A small museum with the history of salt from the region. Free entrance. It's more for elder persons who are interested in these topic.

The lakes themselves is a beautiful sight. The mountains of salt too. If you're interested in birds, there's usually hundreds of flamingos standing in the less salty lakes. Also plenty of other bird species. Not many places to stop along the highway, but you can park at the tower. Beware of the traffic. Better photo opportunities are at the Playa del Pinet nearby.
