Nice little place on the Amazon river.But not much to see around.Few souvenir shops and small local restaurants.

My family and I (8 adults and 2 kids) did an amazing day tour with Selvagem Tours around the main beaches in Alter do Chão. The boat was spacious and comfortable. The crew was attentive and kind providing us with drinks throughout the day and helping whenever needed. Carlos, the owner, made us feel welcome. He shared with us information about the different locations visited as well as local culture. He speaks great English among other languages. We visited Ponta do Cururu, Mureta, Pindobal, Lago das Piranhas, Praia das Moças. We finished the tour with a breathtaking sunset. I highly recommend them if you're planning a day tour in Alter.
