Very easy experience at the rental counter. English is spoken if necessary. If you've never driven out of the airport make sure your destination is in Google Maps or other navigation device, and that it's communicating correctly. As with many major airports the traffic can be heavy and you will need to be ready to take exits when you need to. One other thought. Although they will always try to talk you into upgrading to a larger car, remember that fuel is expensive and parking spaces are often tight in Spain.

Positive: I rented an economy level car and they gave me a free upgrade to a luxury vehicle! Negative: 1-Extras. Constant attempts to upsale you on extras that include manipulative stories of their personal experiences to get you to buy their top of the line insurance. 2-Gas refill policy. Not only do you need to bring a full tank of gas but the receipt from the gas station from the nearby pump to verify that you filled up and release the 100 Euro hold. One wonders if they are in cahoots with the gas pump manager! 3-Car inspection. They minuciously inspect the car for damages using a potent flash light, this contrasts with the "normal wear and tear policy" of other companies. 4-Slow check-out and rtn process. It's no surprise that with all the upsale attempts and quasi- microscopic search for damages that their check-out and rtn processes are far from being efficient. In summary, the fear mongering during check-out and the overzealous search for damages upon rtn make the experience at this location to feel like a scam, a stain on the Hertz brand.
Hi, the agent ruined our holidays, he was very unfriendly and searched desperately for defect on the car so he could charge us. We asked for a complaint form and refused to give it to us. Hertz want to charge us 116euros for a defect unexistant on a picture they emailed us. Very unprofessional and untrustworthy staff. Very unhappy with hertz comparing to other rental company we are use to.
Very unpleasant return of the car - Agent was inspecting the car very carefully but unable to recognise that the tank was full - as the fuel recipt was from the day before even though the only journey made was the one from the city center to the airport

ESTAFADORES. Penoso. Nada recomendable. A típica estafa. Alugo un coche con 53.000 km e un montón de danos, á volta poñense a buscar con unha lanterna ata que din que ten unhas marcas na porta ( que xa estaban). Total, cóbranme 425 por algo que xa tiña o coche.
Horroroso Nos entregaron el coche sin apenas combustible, sucio y no estaba en la plaza donde nos indicaron que estaria. Nos dimos cuenta de que no habia combustible a unos 30 km del aeropuerto, por lo que no consideramos oportunos volver, ni avisar, pensabamos que estabamos delante de una empresea seria, pero nada de eso. Repostamos combustible, guardamos los tickets y a la vuelta en el aeropuerto, negaron todo y nos remitieron a Atencion al Cliente, sabiendo que no ibamos a ninguna parte. Y asi ha sido, alli lo niegan todo y se justifican en que no volvimos ni avisamos, una y no mas Hertz. Bastante tiempo despues de esta experiencia y tras volver a valorar la reclamacion, creo que nos dieron la razon, aun que a nivel de compañia respondieron, no a nivel de establecimiento local.
