Huge grassy big sky kinda place. Not much to \do\ for kids, but for quiet, maybe windy walks with sweeping views...the poplar trees, canal, grassy knoll (Fine View Hill), wisteria trellis late June...and stop off at the little cafe near the park center... snacks and drinks...friendly gentleman happy to chat to visitors (日本語).

Perfect place to relax， BBQ，picnic，jogging，and so on. I spent more than 1 hour to get there by bicycle from the downtown.

Today, I visited Maede forest park with my Japanese friend. We rented the X-country skis and we are both beginners, but we both really enjoyed the experience. The lady who rented us the skis was very pleasant, helpful and just a lovely lady. Coming from Australia, I enjoyed the park and its winteriness very much and would love to visit again during the spring and summer seasons for a different aspect on the park. Thank you Maede park!
