GEO600 is a key technology development center and think tank of the international gravitational wave research community and part of a worldwide network of gravitational wave detectors. Gravitational waves are tiny ripples in the structure of spacetime caused by astrophysical events like supernovae or coalescing massive binaries (neutron stars, black holes). The detector is a ground based laser interferometer and operates on a leg length of 600m. In this array were essential parts of the required instruments and techniques developed, improved and tested, in which the 2 greater LIGO-detectors in US observed on 14th September 2015 directly for the first time the predicted gravitational waves (Einstein, 1916) of a fusion of 2 singularities. This essential discovery was appreciated with the physics Noble prize 2017 (Kip Thorne, Rainer Weiss, Barry Barish).

I loved the place and its beautiful surroundings. A nice spot for a sci-picnic.
Hier wurden (glaub ich) Daten aus Amerika ausgewertet (GEO 2000 oder so) und die haben dann rausgefunden dass die Theorie von Albert Einstein gestimmt hat mit den Gravitationswellen oder so
Sehr nice :)
