Reasonable prices, food good. I personally didn't like the pils very much but others in our party enjoyed their drinks.
We came here because of some reviews of the Black Forest cake. Our intention was to stop for cake and tea but after looking at the menus we decided to dabble in a little savoury delight. Upon first glanced at the menu we found the prices to be totally reasonable. However once our meals arrived we were blown away. We each ordered a “side” portion of Spätzle for less than we paid in Freiburg and the portion was plentiful not to mention totally delicious. It was served in some sort of lovely roast meat broth and was much better than what we had tried elsewhere. For our entree we ordered the smaller portion of Schnitzel and were blown away when each of us met face to face with TWO of the most delicious, moist and flavourful pieces of meat we’ve encountered in Germany yet. I’ll be honest, the Black Forest cake is perfectly adequate, but nothing I would recommend driving well out of your way for, however I would totally recommend stopping here for dinner if you’re in the area! The patio outside is lovely and afforded us a beautiful sunset meal with a great view. Over all the food is top quality delicious and reasonably priced. I would definitely eat here again.

Had excellent Black Forest cake in the middle of Black Forest. While we only ate at the restaurant (and did not stay there), the food was really good and staff was very friendly and kind. There is a small play area for kids, which our daughter really enjoyed. The menu was extensive and the prices were very reasonable. I plan to stay here next time. What a lovely sanctuary in the middle of the forest..... and a wonderful mountain location!
High up in the Black Mountains, this place has views and an extensive menu. Pleanty of vegitarian options as well. We spent a pleasant evening, enjoying the food and views. Getting there is also appitite building.
Fantastic views over the region. Near the junction of several walking trails. Good English spoken. Friendly.
