Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan is a must see every summer for those that love theatre and for those that don't know it yet! In the heart of the City this theatre company puts on 2 well known William Shakespeare productions with high quality, the love for what they do is evident by how they treat guests to the beautiful site down by the South Saskatchewan River. They offer bar service and small bites for snacks and a Community Stage with entertainment before each show. I cannot wait for their new site development next year. Also Happy 35th Anniversary!

Great location. Friendly volunteers. Could use more washrooms and a scent policy but it's a great venue for live theatre.

Went here on multiple different occasions: the acting is phenomenal and draws you more into the story because of it. If you get a chance, come here and experience the beautifully-told stories!

I have been to Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan several times and the performances are always wonderful. This year I saw opening night of The Merry Wives of Windsor and really enjoyed it. It took a few scenes for me to be able to anticipate the accent one of the characters spoke with, but I have no other complaints about the performance. I was there on a very hot evening, and while that's part of the experience of open-air theatre, being uncomfortably hot did take me a little bit out of the action. There are paper fans and cold drinks available for purchase before the show and at intermission, but I wonder if there is some other (quiet) method of cooking a crowd that could be employed in the future--misting equipment, perhaps? Quiet bladeless fans? It's wonderful to have a well-established, highly regarded cultural event of this calibre in Saskatoon. Keep it up!

The grounds on which the festival is located are clean and organized. Staff and volunteers are around to help and make sure your experience is enjoyable. Seat cushions are given to guests to make the long sitting time more relaxing. The actors are excellent, and have lots of passion for the plays. If you are a fan of Shakespeare you will enjoy this!
