Traffic counters are now installed on Lakeland Avenue where they are planning to build this development. How ironic that the town chose this time to set up a survey! During a pandemic: job loss, limited amounts of businesses opened, no school- much less traffic! The counts of vehicles at this time will be totally inaccurate. This information will be used to the advantage of the town and builders to go through with this project. As a resident of Sayville since 2007, I travel up and down Lakeland Avenue to and from my place of employment and I can tell you that traffic has never been so light! Let’s all remember, that if this project moves forward we can add another 2 cars per dwelling in that area and have an excessive amount of cars in our vicinity; an additional 2,200 vehicles! Don’t forget about overcrowding our schools, increasing pollution and depreciation of our property value. Say NO to the zone change!

Build it! It will: Help reverse the brain drain, expand much needed rental housing availability, beautify a derelict property, expand the tax base, supply housing for millennials, support downtown businesses, improve surrounding property values. Thank you for choosing to invest in sayville! When the economy isn’t growing it is shrinking. This is sustainable growth, transit oriented and future oriented. These projects support the vision of tomorrow and will ultimately support and provide housing for our kids so that our population doesn’t shrink, the tax base doesn’t shrink, schools and municipalities don’t fiscally struggle, businesses can flourish, and sustainability is achieved.

I propose you build 1,371apartments in your North Shore community where you live and your kids go to school and enjoy the traffic impact in your neighborhood . Our small community can’t handle it. Sayville is already beautiful without Greybarn. Your data research is falsely leading the community on and baiting them to believe this is all going to be beneficial. I see 2 money hungry businessman that are exploiting and taken advantage of Sayville's Beauty with misleading data and big obnoxious buildings. I have an idea turn it into what it’s meant to be...single family homes!

If I could give them zero stars I would. Taking a once beautiful golf course, destroying it and then calling it a distressed piece of property is very misleading. The only reason Rechler wants to build apartments in this residential area is for money. They care nothing about the community, wildlife or environment .
