I'm a return customer to Advantage, usually renting from the Danforth location. I needed a truck so I called up and was redirected to this location. Called up and ordered a 16 foot truck, and was told I'd be guaranteed a cargo van if the truck was already taken. The next day I get a call asking what times I need it for, again guaranteed at least a cargo van. Day before the pickup I call to confirm the booking. I was expecting a call but I had to call to them. The guy confirmed I would get a van at least. Morning of the pickup I'm waiting for them to open and the lot is empty. The guy (Barag) arrives and brings me straight in and then he is on the phone and on his cell phone at the same time, and is explaining to me there is no van or truck. The client who had the van didn't return it on time and it won't be back until 11am. The best he could do for me was a Caravan and he would try and get me the van when it was returned at 11am. What option had I got, I took the deal and got on with it. 11am came and went, no call. I called in the afternoon and was told the van still wasn't back. My neighbor ended up renting a U-Haul trailer and he moved the bigger furniture for me. All of this stress and headache because someone didn't return a van on time. The caravan was clean but smelled like an ashtray. UPDATE The original review got me a lot of follow up calls from the guy who dealt with me on the day, the store manager (Raj), and I asked to talk to the Regional manager (Lil) also. Great communication and offers from all involved, but this issue still happened, albeit it was out of everyone's control. Regional management have advised they will look into having better controls/deterrents in place for customers who go over their rental timeframe.
