In order to do a sale or purchase in real estate one has to be 18 yrs or older. The lawyer I saw today in their Scarborough location at 5 pm crossed one of the line that said “I know the said person (and) he/ she in my belief of the full age of 18 yrs” on affidavit of execution even after seeing my date of birth on the passport, which to my understanding means lawyer is confirming I am 18 yrs old when red all as a one sentence without any full stop in it. (She probably thought it was a character verification which it was not). She said it’s normal in Ontario to cross this line off. I requested her not to cross it off otherwise I can’t sell my property due to not being of legal age (I am way past legal age of 18) she refused and said my appointment time was up and that our discussion was being recorded in the camera and the office was closed. I just feel bad to name that person here because that person is probably learning and needs to put food on the table. That person seemed to be in very much rush. The person needs better communication and customer skills especially knowledge of legal language. I will not recommend this law firm to anyone. Cheap services are cheap for a reason. Save your money and time and go to someone who is passionate about their clients, their needs and treats them with respect and compassion. Needless to say I was overcharged for a couple of signatures that that person miscounted and then when I counted my signatures the lawyer corrected the amount after first charging it to my credit card. I stood there outside to see maybe they will listen and understand my concern and provide a better solution but they felt uncomfortable leaving that sentence in and took my documents to shred instead.

I searched the Notary public online and found the Axess has the very convenient location to me and a wide range of public notary service. I called the reservation phone line and the lady is very nice and made an appointment for me on the same day. The lawyer I talked on the phone is so warm and the lawyer helped me in the office is professional and very kind.
Absolutely awful service. 0/5. I do not recommend this firm up Les you are *specifically* going for notary services. The notary department is great. However we also used the firm for buying our first home. When I asked a question about our appointment, I did not receive a response. I received an email stating that I had a new appointment and date (that didn't actually exist). And had to email again to receive any human response. We provided all documentation stated in the email and were asked multiple times for additional unlisted documentation. We asked for a specific lawyer for our closing date and were told that was okay. We did not get that lawyer. We got a lawyer that was short, rude and late to our appointment. We weren't given proper information as to what we needed for the meeting and the lawyer left the conversation instead of trouble shooting with us. We were given unclear instructions upon the day that we were to send the bank draft. We had multiple emails and phone calls asking us THAT DAY, after our final signing appointment, two days before closing, to change multiple pieces of documentation that should have been confirmed and reviewed by the firm previously. The quote is 999 for buying a first time home. Our additional fees were 2000.00. Online the price for this is listed as roughly 1500.00. We have to overpay. All of this has been mentioned to the manager and all that was said was that it was our fault we changed our appointment the day before. (We had to have COVID testing and couldn't go in person so it went form in person to virtual, they had over 24 hours notice....?) Absolutely ridiculous. No compensation. Nothing. Don't go

I have been using axess for notary services many many times, they are efficient, helpful, and price is good. Highly recommended!!! Pratheeb Uthayakumar is the lawyer i usually met at their office, he is very good!
