Food is good. Ordering on the phone was quick and easy. Moderate prices.
Used to be good years ago. But during this pandemic, I don't know if the main chef is at home collecting CERB or taking a vacation to China, but the food quality has become so bad, you can't even finish your portion of the food. Maybe they aren't used to storing their foods properly because in the past, it would of been used quickly. Hope they fix. Update: Gave them a second chance today. Do they know how to keep foods fresh? The chilli chicken still taste like it's been bought weeks ago. The Manchurian fish is so dry. And they can't hide that with the sauce. I'm pretty sure this restaurant doesn't know how to store and cook food WHEN THERE IS LESS BUSINESS. They are used to probably getting the supplies in the morning and cooking it the same day. The food is awful. No more, I give up on this restaurant. The food has been in a steady decline for years. The pandemic just made it worse. Even the hot young Asian girl who works the front looks older and less attractive now. So sad.
Incredible food and massive portion sizes! Their price matches their quality, and it’s well worth it. There’s a reason it’s one of the top restaurants in Scarborough and I highly recommend to anyone looking for a new place to eat.
This review is from October 2018: Coming from NYC and having been to LA and SF's Chinatowns, I thought I had seen it all. I discovered Hakka cuisine a few years ago from a recipe site I frequent. After having been to Toronto once, it was clear the Asian food, and pretty much all ethnic food, was superior to that of most places if not all in Queens, my gem of multicultural cuisine. Fredericks was no disappointment. The chili chicken was to die for. We also had a shrimp and chicken pakora combo and the green beans.
