I too had a similar experience to Mr. Thorp and have been trying to leave balanced reviews on Yelp. However, Yelp is protecting him because he's a paying customer. Google reviews are much more trustworthy anyway. Rick Moffatt, owner of LSI Floors, is only interested in selling, not supporting his products. The three of us bought a lot of flooring from this company and was dropped like a bad habit when their flooring failed. Moffatt, without any lab tests or independent examination of the tiles, tried to blame a common floor cleaner that he, in fact, recommended on his website. He stated, \I've been doing this for over 15 years and I've never had this happen\ and thus concludes that his company is not responsible for any failed tiles. Well, there's always a first time. Besides, I don't believe for one second that this has never happened. He simply doesn't understand the chemistry of Vinyl or floor cleaners. As many floor cleaner websites show, alkaline floor cleaners are common and can be used on Vinyl (with a Ph between 8-14) as long as you rinse the floor of any residue which we always did (I used a floor scrubber). We Ph tested the LSI recommended floor cleaner we used (and still use) and it's only 9.6, well within Vinyl's safe limits. In my opinion, he's just tired of providing new flooring to customers who's LSI tiles have failed. I mean, come on, the floor is made out of Vinyl, a type of plastic. It's going to fail sometimes. Instead of some semblance of customer service, he threatened us, verbally abused us and took the attitude, \...sue me!\ Be warned that Moffatt is not going to honor his warranty. He's going to blame you and walk away. Don't get duped by their fancy website. You'll regret it as much as we do. Want to see a copy of the Canadian Consumer Affairs (equivalent to the U.S. Attorney General) complaint filed by Thorp? Just let me know. I have his number. :)

I have personally experienced the shyster-like actions of Rick Moffatt and his Sales Manager Rick Penhallegon. Their floor tiles failed and then tried to blame our cleaning techniques as the cause. I provided a Chemist (expert witness), scientific facts, illustrations and factual arguments to Moffatt to prove we were innocent of his allegations all of which he ignored. After weeks of correspondence, I finally had to report him and his bullying tactics to the Canadian Ministry of Consumer Affairs and the Toronto Better Business Bureau with a 40 page complaint. He was still unmoved and continued to blame our cleaning techniques without any proof. In fact, his own literature contradicted his deluded reasoning on the case. In my opinion, he doesn't understand the science and chemistry involved in his product, blames his customers for manufacturing defects, and thus doesn't honor his warranty. He then verbally abuses, threatens and bullies his customers. Want a copy of the public-record complaint and his emails to see what I'm talking about? Just let me know.
