We ordered through uber eats since that's the only delivery service they use. The food was good as usual but that is not what this review is about. We've picked up orders from here before so this wasn't our first order. It seems that the quantity is being reduced every year. When you order through uber for pili pili, you're paying almost 4 more for ribs/fries, so instead of 15 we paid 19 x3 orders. The ribs came with fries. So We literally paid 75 for a total of about 1.5 lbs OF RIBS ONLY AND ABOUT 1.5 LBS OF FRIES. that is absolutely ridiculous!! Shameful actually to treat your long standing customers who support you through the pandemic like this. Yes its been difficult for restaurant owners but this is and has always been a take out restaurant. So it wouldn't be any different with covid for this place. The price isn't fair for the quantity provided which seems to be getting smaller over time...it wasn't always like this but it seems the owner has been getting greedy even before covid started. Very dissapointed with the amount of food. Pic for proof if you think I'm guessing the quantity.. Can you imagine getting 1.5 lbs of wings for 75 .. would that ever seem fair????

Enjoyed samosas they were as tasty as before but kebabs were soggy on the inside with uncooked core as there was mushy soggy meat core that we scooped & threw out. Cassava fries are still good and tasty. Felt the quality has changed a bit over the past year. Chutneys were watery as well. This used to be my favorite place for my cravings and i hope this experience and quality is not a long term thing.

I found Pili Pili while visiting my cousin in the east end. The young gentlemen who were in charge of cash and cooking in the back were exactly that: gentlemen. They were friendly and offered information about the restaurant owner when we enquirer about the cultural background of the establishment. The chicken and especially the beef were richly flavored with their spice mix and was light, not heavy. The sides were well made and moderately priced. The food was made to order so although there was about a 15 minute wait, it was definitely well worth it. The food was fresh and excellently prepared. It made my Mom long to be back in East Africa where she grew up! We bought the large order of carrot pickle to enjoy over the summer and sampled the Ugali Fries which were a bit on the tart side, but good. The samosas were fantastic!!! It reminded us of when we were kids. If there is one very minor complaint it is that the sauces were very liquidy and didn’t have a good thickness to them which would have been great as a dipping sauce for the samosas. In all however, excellent food. Bravo Pili Pili! We will definitely be back when we are in Scarborough again!!!
