We stay at hotels because my husband travels for work. At this hotel is first time that our truck was broken into, drivers side window was shattered and a few things were stolen from us. I completely understand that sometimes things just happen and trucks do end up getting broken into but we found out that the General Manager Sunit Patel said he noticed that our window was clearly broken when he went into work at 9AMish and never called the police or anything, we didn't find out until close to 7PM when we were going out for groceries. I'm appalled that someone like this is in charge. Had he of made a report then the police would have traced our plate and we would of known much sooner, possibly getting our valuables recovered. You expect the General Manager to be more on top of things at his hotel instead of ignoring something as major as a smashed window, glass all over YOUR parking lot, and vehicles at YOUR hotel getting robbed. It's a shame cause a couple members of the staff are very nice and helpful.

This was a very pleasant stay. Staff was executed friendly and courteous. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. They’re following the recommendations of the CDC to ensure all guest are safe.

We stayed in a double queen suite and the best I can say about it was the beds were different firmness. The temperature in the room fluctuated from hot to cold throughout the night. In order to watch tv, the light switches by the entrance had to be on, which isnt a big deal during the day, but at night the light is annoying and if one person wants to sleep while the other watches tv it makes it pretty hard since the light shines onto the beds. In the morning our phones hadn't charged either, due to the lights being turned off. Overall, it did its job, we had a bed for a night but I could've stayed at Super 8 cheaper

Great room, great facility, great accommodations, sketchy elevator! 5 stars if they get that haunted elevator, whose doors open and close several times before it closes and allows you to go up/down, fixed. Also my wife got stuck in the elevator last week and had to call the fire department to get her out! Staying here because of the recent snow storm damaged our water pipes. (And I believe the reason for the issues with the elevator) Overall a really good hotel, conveniently located and I wouldn't want to be at any other hotel. However that elevator... It was adopted from the Cecil Hotel in LA!

It was the worst hotel experience I've ever had in my life! The hotel sits on the service rd of 35. We could here the 18 wheelers like we were on the interstate! I got no sleep and we came to SA to visit my dying mother!!! I am a Platinum Elite member. I deserve better!

This has been my worst experience in a candlewood suites. I’ve traveled a lot for work and stayed in candlewoods across several states. When I arrived, my room was still dirty and I had to wait over an hour in the lobby. Then, this one has cleaned my room twice in the 6 weeks I’ve been here, the first time was after I asked them 3 TIMES before they did. Place is a mess, it took me over a dozen phone calls over the span of 3 days to get ahold of someone at the front desk. I called the IHG lines and they couldn’t even get ahold of anyone at this hotel. Also, if you ever do get checked in, expect 24/7 outrageous traffic noise, as this was built maybe 100 yards from the on ramp to I35. Overall, 0/10 recommend. The rooms themselves are nice, and a few of the staff are nice, if you can ever find anyone working. But overall, this hotel has been more of a headache than the 100 plus a day is worth.

Not to mention that room was extremely dirty when we first entered. They left a whole plate of food under the bed and a half empty side bottle on the table. How disgusting especially right now during COVID where there needs to be very strict cleaning procedures!!

Did not stay at the Schertz location but I am an IGH rewards member. I stopped on my way to San Antonio just to use the restroom. I only stopped at the front desk to ask for directions to the facilities so that I didn't spend unnecessary time wandering around. Once I asked for help, Rita, the supervisor asked if I were a guest. I said no. She said, you can't use the restroom. Now... I was already past the desk when I stopped to ask so if I had kept going, No one would have asked me anything. I was wearing a mask and had no more chance of having Covid than anyone else in the lobby. We all had an equal shot of being contagious. So, perhaps a more professional response would have been Our lobby restrooms are closed. If you don't want to worry about contamination, then no one should have access. Telling 1 person no, who politely asked, and letting others just walk by the desk to go to the restroom defeats the purpose of the response. All it does is insure that I'll think twice before using any Candlewood Suite hotel. And since I'm a frequent hotel user, I can add Candlewood to my Last Resort list.
