Comfortable and easy passing. Friendly and helpful staff.

All the staff we encountered at Berlin airport are friendly and helpful, both arrivals and departures staff are super efficient. The only thing for me is there isn't sufficient clear information on how to get to terminal 5 from the main airport. But overall had a positive experience and after all the Rona virus clears and lockdowns are lifted we will be planning our return to Berlin.

It's a bad bad place to be hungover. No comfortable seats, no places to lounge about and you're like livestock - it's like they just don't care about people coming through here. Not somewhere I want to spend time. Why are some airports like this? I'd spend money here if there was anything decent, but there isn't. Also, be nice to your customers and give them somewhere to sit down comfortably.

relatively fast check-out even though I had to fill out a passenger information form after arrival for the CoVid-19 tracking... my baggages were already waiting for me there

Very easy to get lost, which is NOT fun when you're running, trying to find your Gate while carrying lots of luggage. Signposting is confusing and there was no enforcement of Covid regulations. Boarding area was cramped, so no social distancing was possible. Only decent thing is that it's quite easy to get into Berlin in terms of distance.

The airport isn't huge but has all the amenities. Washrooms are primarily paid in Germany and so is true for the airport. Make sure to have a 50 cents, 1 euro or 2 euro coin if you're planning on getting a trailer at the airport for your luggage. Not a lot of staff at the international side but the immigration people understand English. The airport is surprisingly small for an international airport but the functioning is impeccable as expected from Germans.

Easy to navigate, 35min on airport express train from city centre. Security only allow 1 bag per person, Ryanair checked in my suitcase with no extra cost. Security screen was slow but understandable due to social distancing. Security staff with good English and they don’t rush you around the place. I went thought entrance M, very limited food options there. But after security my gate was K72 and there are loads of food options such as Burger King, cafes etc.. I believe the journey to the airport can be difficult if it rains, the layout doesn’t help and exiting the train/metro station you walk outdoors to get to the terminal.

Have used this airport couple of times. First time the security check wasn't very pleasant but last time it has improved. Restrooms are very small in the departure terminals. Some of the budget airlines fly to and from this airport. It has good connections to central Berlin. As this is a small airport to the shopping and dining doesn't have much choice.
